Groundworkers are always the first people on any construction site, and are able to transfer between civil engineering and heavy construction.
Working with their supervisors and engineers, Groundworkers prepare the site for construction using plans and specifications. They work from the beginning planning stages, through construction and to completion of a project, and so are highly valuable to the entire project.
Groundworkers can work on residential building sites, commercial building sites, and general building sites. They can be employed by all types of construction companies, ranging from small subcontractors to large main contractors.
Groundworkers will complete duties that include preparing the sub-surface for structural work to begin, installing drainage systems, constructing roads and pathways, concreting, and completing the finished hard landscaping.
