Content Creator

Content Creator Certification at Level 3

A content producer, also called a content creator, is responsible for making content across various media. This includes print work, web, social media, and broadcast. Content creators will work to a client brief and develop a media message to maximise audience engagement while promoting the brand’s message.

Officially the Junior Content Producer apprenticeship, learners on this course will gain the skills and knowledge needed for a variety of roles, including those in advertising, marketing, digital agencies, and interactive broadcasting.

Online Course Delivery

Online apprenticeships will be delivered with 121 video calls with the support of group online virtual classrooms. Regular updates and support from our accredited tutors, and round the clock access to the tutors for any questions you need answering.

This Course Follows a List of Standards

This course follows a list of standards that a content creator is expected to achieve before undertaking a final endpoint assessment (EPA).

The standards follow different criteria consisting of

  • Knowledge
  • Skills
  • Professional Behaviours and Values

The learner is only put forward to the endpoint assessment once they can properly demonstrate all of the course standards. A full breakdown of these standards can be viewed below

Delivered Online

The Content Creator Apprenticeship is delivered online using video calls, online classrooms, and regular virtual contact with your personal tutors.

12 months minimum

Requirements

Apprentices will be required to have or achieve level 1 English and Maths and to have taken level 2 English and Maths tests prior to completion of their Apprenticeship.

We recommend you have a passion for digital and social media as well as knowledge of industry standard software.

Qualification

Upon completion, learners will be awarded a Junior Content Producer Level 3 certificate.

  • A comprehensive grasp of grammar, punctuation and spelling
  • How to write copy that persuades a person or group or raises brand awareness
  • How to capture video, pictures, graphics and sound from various formats, in preparation for non-linear editing
  • How the editing approach affects the production of the content
  • How to identify and manipulate media assets from various sources
  • How to securely store and access media assets
  • How to archive, conserve and preserve images
  • How to use search-engine optimisation techniques
  • How to publish web pages using mark-up and style sheets
  • How to segment and understand audiences
  • How to gather data to evaluate the success of the campaign against the client/customer objectives
  • The culture of creative media organisations
  • Commercial pressures, project deadlines and organisation working practices
  • How to manage and market their own skills and services
Skills
  • Interpret the objectives of the client’s/customer’s brief
  • Research ideas and concepts to meet the brief
  • Analyse the differences between media campaigns aimed at retention, acquisition and conversion of customers for clients
  • Identify & recommend the appropriate platform/s or channel/s to use for the media campaign
  • Present ideas, pitches and proposals for creative content to be further developed
  • Ensure that the content being developed is organised, structured and labelled effectively and in a logical manner that allows for efficient search and retrieval
  • Storyboard and outline script their ideas for content to be developed
  • Operate effectively within the production workflow
  • Obtain media assets for use within content creation
  • Ensure content is accessible to all end users and language best practice is applied
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients, colleagues and suppliers
  • Understand the user experience to ensure content is focused on maximising engagement
