Safeguarding is the term used to encompass the measures taken to protect the health, well-being and human rights of individuals. This safeguarding video has been developed to highlight the steps taken to allow people to live free of abuse, harm, and neglect.
Safeguarding is a common term used in relation to children, but adults haven’t always shared the benefit. However, in 2014, The Care Act was introduced. It set out a clear legal framework of how adults should be protected from abuse or neglect. You can read more about the Care Act 2014 here.
